How often do you go for HIV screening?

i think every 6 mths is just nice.. since the window period is 6 mths

It depends on your activity + risk level.

If you are in a 1 :1 relationship and both of you have tested negative and don't have any external affairs, then there is no need for it. But this is a trust issue, so subjective.

If you have have sex ad-hoc with FLs / one night stands etc with proper condom usage then maybe twice a year.

If you have frequent sex with FL's / one night stands with proper condom usage - every 3 months.

If you have sex without condoms - frequent or infrequent with anyone you don't know / trust = FL's / one nite stands etc... 3 months after your last exposure.

Just a rough guide only.

In most countries the window period has been changed to 3 months ased on the current technology used to check for HIV. Only for very serious cases do they recommend 6 months.

But there is no harm to get checked at 6 months too.
