If fermale, you can go to any lawyer you can find onlin e. You are going to win the case anyway. But please at least have the heart to show your would be ex husband some mercy. Don't take anything from him and walk out of the marriage with your head held high.

If male, it doesn't matter which lawyer you go to. Most importantly, settle with your soon to be ex wife out of courtnd you might have to consider bankruptcy but please never consider suicide no matter how bad the situation gets.

Yes. The law is against you. Twisting your way in is not going to help. Rather. Look at your
1. Basis for divorce
2. Any disputes on assets
3. Any maintenance
4. Any children

Are you able to settle amicably out of court with a legally acceptable readon for divorce? A good reason is 3 years of sleeping separately and mutually agreeable to it when presenting to court. Settle on your assets eg.HDB flat on your share so either of you can do a resale of part share.
As much as possible no maintenance required if there is no children. If there is, negotiate the sum out of court and both must agree.

Then go to a cheap lawyer and settle it amicably. You are in a potential big problem so make sure you keep the negotiations as peaceful and as out of court as possible.

I assume there is no violence involved between the separating couple here, and that TS choice of pidgin identifies him as either Singaporean or Malaysian. If there is violence, make a police report instead regardless of gender.

Why I reply is in contrast with what JacqueMerlin says, simply because the incumbent Law Minister is a known divorcee. In other words, if the TS is male and divorcing, my best advice is pop by a PAP MPS and speak with a lawyer MP. You may be surprised, because in the modern age it is very easy a male win a divorce lawsuit simply because wives are seldom as conservative as they once were. Hence, even if you were womanising, let's consider perhaps that you have an extra marital affair or a new found love, in as far as you are alright with a proper divorce and some alimony settlement, this is precisely how the Law Minister kept the job as MP and got another wife.

Why the violence topic is crucial is because if TS had gone around battering your wife, then you might as well ready a prison term. There are shades of grey, and the easiest way is being open with minimal wife beating, that can save the male party a hell lot of both legal tender and paper money.
