From what I read, Jota had lung surgery and was advised not to fly back to Liverpool. Normally post surgery cannot fly for a few weeks. He then drove through Spain to get on a ferry back to England. His tyre burst during overtaking and cause the accident.

Jota was coming back for first day of pre-season (Monday). Pre-season is now delayed. As a fan, I am still in shock. Cannot imagine what the staff and players are going through mentally now. No one has the mood for pre-season.

apparently Diaz was renting Jota's house before Diaz joined Liverpool.

Many news reports said Liverpool will be paying the remaining wages of Jota's current contract plus the education fees for his 3 children. On top of that, we will retire the number 20 jersey after winning our 20th league title.

Some videos I saw said the full payment of his current contract comes after Liverpool terminated his existing contract. If Liverpool didn't terminate the contract, the payout to his family will be lower. So just in case you read about contract termination, please understand it is done so that we can pay out the full amount. Termination is not a bad word in this context.

Think ideally, we now need 2 strikers, at least one a top class striker and the other a quality striker

I don't see how keeping Nunez or Chiesa solves anything. It gives us numbers but if Slot doesn't play them then what's the point? It will be like last year when we had numbers but not the quality the Manager wanted

On a side note what do people think of Arsenal signing Zubermendi ? - they will now have a midfield of Zubi - Rice - Oddegard with Saka and Martenelli(or Madueke) as wingers - add Trossard and Havertz and if rumours are true they are favourites to sign Gyokeres then i think they shall be hard to ignore as serious title challengers

Diaz is linked to Bayern Munich. Our defence is a priority now. We only have 2 centrebacks in VVD and Konate. We have 3 leftback.

As for Arsenal, they always look good on paper but they can't do well due to their fans. Crazy buggers that pressure the arsenal team more than Arsenal's opponents. They lost thomas partey who played 35 times for them in the league last year. He is being charged for rape

Zubermindi was good two years ago and now not so. Always think Spaniard dun play well in England.

Diaz went back Colombia to party during Jota funeral. These angers all the Liverpool players, management and fans.

His days numbered at Liverpool by doing that.

Diaz ungrateful brat and didn't remember that when his father was kidnapped how Liverpool helped.

Not fussed if Konate or Diaz leave in the long term but they aren’t going anywhere this season. We a have a title to defend and both are important members of our squad.

Gather Napoli have made a £42m bid for Liverpool's 26-year-old Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez(Gianluca di Marzo). But seems like the Saudis are still sniffing around and we have set our marker at £65m for Darwin Nunez, fingers crossed. Napoli will have to increase their offer substantially.

We got Nunez in 2022 after he had one very good season in Portugal

I saw Gyokeres's recent video in wechat. He said he doesn't wish to join Man U and only wants to join Arsenal. His current team may be trying to sell him to the highest bidders. So let's see if Arsenal can reach a financial agreement.

As usual (same as last year), Arsenal looks the most likely to win the league. Man City and us are rebuilding. But they have to actually go out there and defeat teams. Last season they kept losing to teams that play a low block, smash and grab game. Plus Arsenal lost their midfield general Thomas Partey who played so many games for them last season.

On our side, sad as it is, we have to move on from Jota. Porto came out to say they were trying to sign Jota before the accident. Trying to sign him at the end of this season (in 2026). I don't know if we have the budget to sign a striker of similar class given we have spent big and spent early this summer.

No news on Harvey Elliot. After Jota's accident, do we still sell him? Actually i feel we can try Kerkez in the left winger row given we have 3 leftbacks now. Frimpong can push up as right winger if we play Gomez and Conor Bradley as rightback. Not ideal but make do switches
