The picture is clearer now on the circumstances leading to the Candy bar raid. It was a revenge raid by the local CIDG cops and had nothing to do with the NGOs or Manila.

Sometime back a mamasan left the employ of the bar to work for a Korean bar and the usual industry practice is that her girls will follow her to the new place. However, one of her girls refused to follow her and remained working in Candy bar. One afternoon while this girl was on her way to work.... she was accosted by a Korean man and 2 locals near the Candy bar...... the Caucasian bar manager who was on his way to Candy bar happened to see the girl struggling with these 3 men and came to her aid.... it turned out that the 2 locals were CIDG cops.

The bar manager told them to FO and sent the girl back to the Candy bar on his motorbike..... he then went home as he needed to crap. About 10 mins after he reached home.... he was informed of the raid happening at Candy bar. The raiding party brought the new mamasan, the cashier and 31 girls including the earlier girl whom they attempted to accost back to the Criminal Affairs Office in Dau. According to witnesses... some of the raiding party even went into the neighboring bars for "inspection" which is actually an attempt to locate the manager of Candy bar.

When it became apparent this was a revenge raid targeted at the bar manager and the ex-mamasan's girl...... all those arrested were released within hours.
Latest info is that the Candy bar is open for business and operating as per normal.

Thanks for the update bro as I always liked this bar and always went there on my trips. Bar manager is nice guy and I always gave him my biz. Too bad my other fav. bar (Bare Assets) is still closed
