that aside... DUDE...her reaction was "I know... how?" THAT was a BIG BIG BIG indication that she wants you to rescue her. hidden message was: "Come up with some lame excuse, so that I can be with you ALONE."

at that moment, you could have phoned her and started a simple Q&A conversation like:
"where are you?"
"Finished work liao mah?"
"don't forget our dinner later at XXXX place..."

and i am sure she would be more than delighted to play along with you...

but since that night you had to leave the place early... use this opportunity to offer to treat her to an "apology dinner" or something like that... sound apologetic and want to make up for that night...
