Totally wrong (my 2 cents too).
An abundant seafood meal, like a meal one can get in East Coast Seafood Center Singapore for 100SGD/person, in Batam Harbour Bay, or better at a good kelong restaurant at Barelang, may cost around 250k IDR (1/3 as in Singapore).
It makes sense, if you want to impress wives and
show them why you like to go to Batam sometimes, for seafood, what else, to buy ferry tickets, rent a car with driver, go to Barelang and spend 3 hours in front of a large table filled up with seafood plates. If the group is not small, it is also economically convenient (I am not sure for what group size there is the breakeven).
