Mawlid an-Nabi 24 January
(Time ago I asked this question here, but I got no response. So I asked around to my contacts in Batam and finally I knew. Maybe someone is happy if I share this info)
24 January 2013 is Mawlid an-Nabi.
All entertainments are planned to be closed on the eve: from 6pm 23 Jan till 6pm 24 Jan.
PS:
Last time I went to Batam it was Eid al-Adha, 26 October.
I think I have a radar: when I plan a visit, based on my work schedule, I discover I hit some Muslim holiday that makes bars to close. This happened already in my last 3 visits!
On the eve (25 Oct), all bars were closed, BUT Pacific and Newton were open instead, contrary to announcements! Probably this will happen also this time.
