Looks like BlueBird finally got permission to operate in Batam. This will mean cheaper fares using a meter from a licensed driver. The exisitng local drivers will be upset as they won't be able to get away with their rip-off prices anymore. Great to see common sense has prevailed and the local officials have ignored threats by the Preman.

TRIBUNNEWSBATAM, BATAM- Dinas Perhubungan Kota Batam hingga Senin (22/10/2012) tidak ada mengajukan banding atas putusan Pengadilan Tata Usaha Negara Tanjungpinang nomor 23/G terkait pengoperasian Taksi Blue Bird di Batam.
Sesuai aturan, ada waktu 14 hari untuk ajukan banding. Karena tak ada upaya banding dari pihak Dinas Perhubungan maka putusan yang diterbitkan tertanggal 8 Oktober 2012 tersebut telah berkekuatan hukum ,....
