padang people hate chinese in general. They are shrew business people too.
As for those who stayed in Batam for long, they are international liao. In general, those who are in Batam long, get to mix with all sorts of people from overseas, all parts of Indonesia, they are more open minded.
Even the chinese too, they dont care in Batam.... E.g. If a Chinese guy is to be spotted with a dark skin or other race other than chinese, he will be the talk of the town, in Medan, or communities with chinese.
That is why alot of GF of Chinese indos or others station their cewek in Batam
