I do not know if office can be considered as "Public Area". It happened before the 1997 financial crisis when i was working in a company, I was one of the pioneer as the company was just set up few months before I joined, it's on the 18 Floor of a high rise buiding along Jalan Sultan Ismail.

1 conference room, 1 chairman room, 2 director room, 8 manager room and open area. Only 10 of us then, 4 of them from Hong Kong, Singapore, UK and US. These 4 only came to the office once in a blue moon. So that left 6 of us who based in KL.

We occupied half of the floor, still remember it happened on the day before my birthday, my gf (now my wife) came to my office as i was working quite late and she dropped by my office so that we can go for dinner and movie in Sungei Wang later. It's about 8 pm+ and no body in the office.
