Just a story of my friend:-
My friend has a half-filipino step sister and she seriously hates her mom (now re-married) for abusing her during childhood. In fact, she kind of respects and likes her dad. So they used to have this maid now back in Philippines (suspect repatriated due to prenancy) doing her business and the dad still visits or sends money. Why doesn't my friend sees the link?? It's perplexing. Perhaps she needs to be properly educated and initiated.
I must admit it must be kind of fun for the dad all these while minus the divorce and payments haha... salute
