Khalwat offences in Malaysia are committed when a man and a woman who are not family members, and when at least one of them is a Muslim, are caught in 'close proximity'. The couple could be in a room or in a public park.

I suppose Indonesia would have similar laws. In Malaysia it seems that they are more “on” in catching khalwat. I was just wondering how “on” the Indonesian vigilantes are in catching khalwat in Batam.
I also read about hotel counter staff whistleblowing to earn extra money. There are cctvs on each floor of the hotel so even if gf doesn’t go to the counter, she can still be seen entering the room. Housekeeping can also tell. So if they want to earn extra cash, they can tell on you. I guess if giving money to the cops can settle the problem then not much of a problem.
