A lot of info on page one of this thread which you might wish to flip through (or my signature links). Price variances of most places wont be too far apart tho. I have the tendency to compile info here,hehehe...
Under normal circumstances,i will usually ask friends who are comfortable with a certain hotel which they used to stay before to stay there again if they havent been to Batam for a while. At least they already knew the surrounding well enough to start off.
The below photo by bro Ndnd, if you take a closer look,on the left hand side of the photo is Links KTV,which is a rather popular booking joint,and on the right hand side, is Allium Hotel. Hotel location quite good too,if your plan is for entertainment.
