I think if one knows the way around in Jakarta, can get a little better rate than in batam. My mum's friends who worked there (for more than a few decade) could get a better rate when i make a comparison on both places base on the same Singapore time. They were able to get 10k/SGD couple of months ago while batam can only get about 9970-9980/SGD.
