Kiwi meth suspect ‘stressed and freaked out’ before Bali trial

A kiwi woman apparently isn’t doing so hot as her drug trial in Denpasar court nears.
New Zealander Myra Lynne William, 27, was arrested after her flight from Melbourne landed at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport in September.
Immigration noticed her behaving “unnaturally” in the queue and when she was taken aside to be further checked, a pouch of 0.43 grams of crystal meth allegedly fell to the ground. Police tested her urine, which allegedly came back positive for methamphetamine, marijuana, and ecstasy.
Now William is apparently showing similar, unbalanced behavior, based on comments from her lawyer, Suriantama Nasution.
"She's so stressed and freaked out," AAP quoted Nasution as saying on Thursday.
The kiwi’s trial is “soon” approaching, prosecutor Paulus Agung reportedly said on Thursday. The kiwi will likely be facing charges covering possession, importation, and use of drugs.
Under Indonesian law, drug use could land the kiwi four years max in jail, while the possession charge could get her 12 years, and importation could mean a maximum of 15 years behind bars.
William, who actually resides in Australia, had come to Bali for a holiday with a group of friends before her incident at immigration landed her in trouble. This is her first time to the island, according to her lawyer.
