Thanks for the heads up on the noticeable increased crime rate in Batam too. When i flipped thru the Sillypore's paper over the weeks,i see no lesser crime in Sillypore as compare to Batam. (the other side of the coin is it could have gone unreported) I also notice in Batam,most of the victims in crime involve their local more than foreigners.
Yes,your good advise to remind us to always be humble and not show off or be yaya will go a long way for future trips to Batam (or even anywhere in the world). Be safe,stay safe.

Good to know you bargained,even for taxi rides. If you just sit in and kept quiet w/o asking for pricing,who knows you might be asked to pay more than 100k from Nagoya to BCS.
