I suddenly remember a weird incident when I was exiting the Batam Centre customs.
After collecting my back pack when exiting the scanner, I was stopped by one customs chap. I got a shock. He patted my left side bermuda front pocket....which housed my indo wallet (a bit thick w rupiah)...then he pointed to my right side front pocket....tissue??
It was my handkerchief. I say yes....he let me go....to my relief.
The slight incident left me a bit bewildered. I had gone to Batam a few times n countless customs in Thailand, China, HK, Macau, Taiwan....etc...not once I was stop....
I faster exited...I guess that incident kind of left me brain dead n freeze while I was at the KAHA counter...thus the mistake of kenna conned.
Anyway, I was lucky I met no further police personnel while on my foot trips in batam during my stay.
The customs chap want $$? Maybe next time I put the wallet on my side pocket....
