After reading so many pages of Batam experiences by senior bros (e.g. Newyorker88, nono1973, Naka_Timo, S.B.Y.1, Hurricane88, SEAJ, etc.) I decided to make a solo trip over there to experience it. So, I booked d PRIMA ferry at 0940hrs & reached d PRIMA Harbour Front office at #03-47 to collect d ticket for boarding. Reached Batam Harbour Bay at about 0940hrs (local timing) & make my way to d local PRIMA office to book d next day ferry back to home to ensure availability of seat. Upon exiting d arrival area, turn left & walk along a alley till you see some taxi drivers asking whether do you want taxi or not I ignored them & turn right & walk till I see a convenient store I then turn right where I will see d money changer shop. Walk slight further you will see many food stores, walk on d right hand side walk path & about less than 2 minutes you will see d PRIMA office.
After I booked my return ferry ticket, I began to look for transport to go to Formosa Hotel to check-in. However, all d taxi drivers doesn't want to lower less than IDR 50K. When I was about to loss hope, an Ojek driver approached me & offered me IDR 20K. I immediately took his offer & the ride was about 10mins. After settling my room, I began to look for Mickey Mouse Bak Kut Teh. The stall is located located at d building next to Lucky Plaza and I ordered 3 dishes to try. Cost of d 3 bowl (Bak Kut Teh, Intenstines & You Tiow) is IDR95K.
