Well, before the conference I was staying at a service apartment for 530rmb a night near to the Hyatt. Its the Tai Hua Gong Yu next to Xin Xi Jue (New World Department Store) on Chongwenmen Wai Lu very near to Harley Fatboy's place.

U should try it, the apartment is very nice and good value for money. I had little choice but to stay at Hyatt because of clients and guests attending the event...... apart from the pool I really didnt like staying there.....getting to the Hyatt....... especially that very very last traffic light where the car has to turn left into the Oriental Plaza is a total waste of time...... too expensive for what you're getting too......

Tai Hua is great, extremely modern and very localized and prices very very localized too without anyone trying to scam or hustle you. Short walk to the chongwenmen subway station too
