I will like to share my little experience..
I decided to goto batam on 16/03/14 (sunday) but unfortunately i had to do some urgent work in the morning, so i could goto the harbour bay terminal only in the afternoon by 3pm
then i took the wavemaster ferry (cost sgd 47 for up and down). reached batam by 4pm. then took a taxi to nagoya hill mall (cost rp 60000 sgd7)
tip- take prima ferries as they directly go near nagoya and save the taxi time and money.
then walk through the mall towards the orther end and cross the road. if u get lost ask for 'lucky plaza (this mall is filled with cell phone shops)'. once ur at the entrance of lucky plaza then it means ur at the centre of the pickup joints. walk either way and u will find dynasty, new berlin etc.

some tips from me:
1. use prima ferries as they directly take u near nagoya
2. change the currency after u exit the nagoya mall as they slightly give u a better rate
3. new to batam? - dont worry about finding girls - once exit the nagoya mall through the back side, there are so many ppl (like pimps) who will run to and ask 'sir u want girls, i show u' etc.. lot of them will have those small motorbikes to take u around.
4. dont go on sunday, most of the shops are closed and the joints were empty.
