Been damn long since I go to any Spa for massage locally. Went to a Spa in the east nearby my favourite hawker centre. Its a single letter Name Shop after the alphabet K. Walked into the shop and was approached aggressively by the receptionist and a manager to try their signature Hot Oil kidney Therapy massage for $89 an hour as initially I opted for the traditional Chinese massage which is priced at $58 an hour. Both prices were stated in the menu and I asked them why am i not allowed to take the $58 traditional massage? The manager snapped me and said the $89 hot oil kidney therapy includes full body massage from the head to the lower part of the body and the $58 only includes the upper part of the body which is just shoulders and arms. She even said all their patrons will pay for the $89 massage and why am I the wierd one who is not taking it.


After 5 mins I decided to try lah since 1 year plus never go for any massage liao. The masseuse came in was in her forties from the land of dragon and she have no clues on how to give a proper massage. She kept pouring lots of oil on my body and rubbing at the same place for many times. At one point, she even asked me to extend for another 30 mins which I will need to top up additional money. In my mind, I already wanted the massage to end quickly and get out, what's worse is yet to come. She suddenly attacked my genitals and stroke it. She told me you know the "market rate" to tip me. And when the session ends, i gave her one blue. And she asked where's the other blue? She said now needs 2 blue. I told her i have been giving one blue since one year plus ago. And she said now is 2022 liao, air tickets also increase. In my mind I am thinking what has it got to do with us. I told her I did not have extra cash, she kept asking me to use paynow or use the NETS machine at the counter.


As I am a married man, I know by using paynow or NETS will leave traces. She even said she will follow me to the ATM outside the Spa to withdraw cash. In order not to create a scene, I went out with her to withdraw the other $50 and passed it to her. Total damage is $189 and what a ripped off. A big lesson learned indeed and I vowed not to step into any massage palour ever again.

Lesson here is, do not ever be talked/forced into whatever kidney/prostrate bs thingy. It either the basic $50/60 package or non. Take it or leave it

This is not acceptable. Totally con ppl.
Basically you can choose to walk away because tips is not a fixed amount. Put down a blue note is already settled. Nowadays with $100 massage service should included happy ending.

Since it's so chop carrot, can you indicate which spa u went or put spa name in asterisk so bros here know which spa to avoid. Many thanks, bro.

Just a tip, avoid those spa that charge minimum $88, those are the so called prostate places to chop people of their hard earned money.

Avoid at all times but how you manage to stop/lun 1 year not to go to massage parlour OMG! Can I learn from u? I usually tell myself go monthly but end up very frequent visit

But recently I also encountered the same con style. So quitting in my conscious mind but evil in my sub conscious always win

I do agree over the past 2 years, most spas are charging alot more or providing lesser massages at that price. I am thinking of going Natureland Spa. Clean and cheaper if i need.

The name of the Spa is very obvious after the clear hints OP mentioned.. I always had doubt on this Spa after all the glamourous looking ML photos advertised. I knew this is a booby trap shop.

Sounds like you got into a black shop and kenna conned. The market has not moved that much. Certainly $58 + $50 service is very common all over and is still the market rate. You were too soft on them and they figured out they can push you around with carrot rates. They smelled the uncertainty and fear in you and took advantage. Never be afraid to stand your ground since they should be the ones fearing arrest not you.
